Last week FABulous partner FORTH hosted the 18th International Congress on Artificial Materials for Novel Wave Phenomena. This week long event aimed to share the latest results of the metamaterials research and bring together the engineering, physics, applied mathematics and material science communities working on artificial materials and their applications in electromagnetism/optics, acoustics/mechanics, transport, and multi-physics.
A highlight of the week was the presentation from FABulous researcher Odysseas Tsilipakos who discussed his work on the design of polymeric optical metasurfaces. Odysseas and the team at FORTH play a pivotal role within FABulous, designing of meta atoms for photocurable materials to address the functionalities required by the FABulous use cases.
